The home owners wanted to become energy producing but their existing home was not oriented properly to add solar panels directly to the house. Since they couldn't change their home, they opted to build a shed to add storage and a great place for enough solar panels to power their needs. Because they had an older home, they have worked to minimize their usage so the electricity provided by the panels would satisfy their needs.

Solar Panels: 36 photovoltaic (PV) panels create electricity. Site planning: Since the home was not oriented on the lot correctly, the solar shed was placed to take advantage of the southern exposure. Battery backup: Excess produced electricity is stored in a battery back up system in the shed.
